Ellen Page sure has come a long way since she broke out as a teen mom with attitude in the 2007 sleeper hit Juno.
The actress has since moved effortlessly between major blockbusters (Inception) and indie darlings (Touchy Feely), while becoming a major gay rights activist after she came out of the closet earlier this year.
It's no wonder that W selected her for one of its five different October issue covers. Page — who the magazine dubs one of "The New Royals" — is clad in an Armani jacket, Gucci shirt, and Eugenia Kim hat, and looks longingly into the camera.
Inside, the 27-year-old actress discusses her first major film role, which saw her play the victim of a pedophile in Hard Candy. "My character had to castrate the pedophile," she tells the magazine. "I've always loved learning things for a part, and I remember researching castration and thinking, This is so interesting. I'm a nerd that way. I love the challenges of this job."
Joining Page on the other four October covers are Cara Delevingne, Charlotte Casiraghi, Kristen Wiig, and Naomi Campbell. But, do they have any stories about castration? Doubt it. (W)
