Colette Meets Comic-Con In A Collab For The Ages

Judging from their often questionable outfit choices — Spidey's skintight suit and Wonder Woman's red bustier, for example — superheroes go with fashion like Clark Kent and kryptonite. Leave it to Colette to change that with its latest collection which, inspired by Batman, takes action-figure style far beyond the Comic-Con scene. Think night-out worthy jewels and clutches more than latex jumpsuits and capes.
The Parisian concept store is partnering with Warner Bros. this fall on a Dark Knight-themed line of clothes, accessories, and even skateboards in honor of the superhero’s 75th birthday. Expect flashy pieces like a Yazbukey clutch stamped with the iconic yellow and black logo, alongside subtler interpretations of the franchise, like Stone’s Poison Ivy-inspired earrings. Our favorite: luxe leather sneakers by Berluti, which look totally classic, save for a small Batman icon on the back. With Thierry Lasry, Anthony Vaccarello, and Eleven Paris also offering up designs, it's enough to make any comic devotee start researching flights to Charles de Gaulle.
This isn’t the first time Bruce Wayne's scored a fashion collab, either (Forever 21 and Lazy Oaf have both rolled out lines in the past). But, the fact that Colette will transform its whole space into a DC Comics fantasy world, complete with a Gotham City bar, takes this partnership to a whole new level of fandom.
The Colette Batman collection debuts October 27, but for a peek at the goods, head to the Batmobile! Err, slides...to the slides. (WWD)
