These days, love letters are positively archaic. No one has time to actually put pen to paper and ink their undying devotion. No one except Kanye West, that is.
It's no "Ever thine / Ever mine / Ever ours," but West's "Awesome" gets the job done.
He premiered it way back in 2013 at a New York City show, but it resurfaced last night as a sensible soundtrack to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians season finale. Lyrically, it doesn't get more complex than West auto-tuning "Baby you're awesome" over and over again. But, then a little Yeezy dust gets sprinkled on it that transforms the cloyingly simple words into one epic production à la "Lost In The World."
