Here Are 2 Unreleased Adele Tracks To Stave Off Your Cravings

There was a moment back in 2011 when it was nearly impossible to venture anywhere without hearing Adele on the radio. Her sophomore album, 21, spawned five singles and a pop cultural wave we like to call "The Adele Effect." No matter where you were, if "Someone Like You" was playing, people (including yourself) would be either lip-synching it, humming it, or full-on singing it — guaranteed.
The Adele Effect has been laying dormant for a few years, but that's rumored to end sometime soon when her third album drops. And, since everything surrounding the album is mere hearsay (Will it be a disco album? Is is actually called 25?), all news that surfaces should be taken with a pinch of salt.

These two, previously unreleased sessions from the 21 era are a good sign that something is definitely brewing in the Adele universe, though. "Never Gonna Leave You" and "You'll Never See Me Again" leaked over the Labor Day weekend. They are, for the most part, very Adele; heavy piano-filled soul-pop. They're love related and pretty fabulous additions to her oeuvre. Why they were nixed from the final cut is a mystery, but, man, would they make for an incredible B-side collection. Perhaps these tracks are what set the third album's hype machine in motion. Until then, here's your new Adele fix. (Stereogum)
