5 Acts To Catch At Electric Zoo

There are two ways to celebrate Labor Day weekend in New York City: escape to the beach or trek to Randall's Island and dance. The beach sounds relaxing, but there's always the risk of crowds. There's going to a crowd on Randall's Island, too, but this is one crowd you actually want to be in.
Beginning Friday, August 29, Electric Zoo and its myriad of stages will take over the island for three days of pure, festival debauchery. DayGlo and PLUR bracelet-wearing folk will mix with city dwellers and out-of-towners all in the name of electronic dance music. To some, all that boom-ditty-boom-ditty sounds like a nightmare. To others, it's pure escape. But, before you dismiss Electric Zoo as a smaller Ultra, know that this is the one EDM fest laced with Manhattan cool.
And, these five acts capture that vibe perfectly; effortlessly edgy and completely surprising.
