Sophie Theallet Just Changed Everything About Plus-Size Lingerie

From tearful trips to try on skirted swimsuits under fluorescent lighting to a pitiful dearth of options available in larger sizes, there's a lot about clothes shopping that can make women feel bad about their bodies. It's hard out there. But, at least one brand has made a mission of not treating curves like a challenge: Lane Bryant.
Having recently stepped up its design game with younger styles, capsule collections, and a successful collaboration with Isabel Toledo, Lane Bryant is tacking another well-known name to its roster. CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner and French designer Sophie Theallet has teamed with the brand to create a lingerie line specifically for curvier women.
Theallet said she was thrilled to partner with Lane Bryant: “It has been a great experience working with the Cacique Lane Bryant team, and together we are working to make a beautiful product.” She explained, “I’ve been really amazed at the technology and know-how at Cacique. I adore Linda Heasley [Lane Bryant CEO]. She shared her passion and vision for the brand, I definitely wanted to be part of it.”
Her eagerness to be involved with one of the best-known plus brands is apparent in her flattering designs. Most busty women (regardless of clothing size) have realized that if a bra comes in their size, it's likely a utilitarian workhorse that's better left un-flaunted. But, Theallet has filled her collection for Cacique, Lane Bryant's intimate line, with feminine, blossom-covered bras, lace-trim bottoms, and flirty lingerie sets that mean you're no longer relegated to those expanses of beige elastic. Ranging from 38- to 44-inch bands, from C through H cups, and up to a 26/28 in panties and sleepwear, the selects are aimed at a shopper that's largely underserved by the bigger names in slinky things.
While we dream of what designer Lane Bryant might possibly tap for its next closet-transforming trick, click through to see all the Sophie Theallet styles and start picking your favorite. They hit stores this fall.
