This weekend, Afropunk came back, and it reemerged better than ever. The two-day festival, which took over Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park, celebrated its 10th year with a lively mix of music, food, film, and fashion.
Since its arrival in 2005, Afropunk has become something of a community-wide cultural movement, bringing together an eclectic mix of fiercely independent individuals. Which is not just evident in the artists who perform there (the fest features many underground acts like SZA and Alice Smith), but also in the concertgoers' unique sense of style.
Click through to see the boldest beauty looks we encountered in Brooklyn this past weekend. From colorful updos to free-flying natural tresses, this is beauty street style like you've never seen it before.
