Though it was intended to be a friendly rap battle, Drake and all of his feelings still managed to get a little sentimental, of course. Drizzy floated above the fans and serenaded them, as if to get as intimate as possible without inviting a series of ass grabs. As he glided overhead, he shouted out to individual women in the crowd — compliments he managed to interweave with lyrics from "Marvin's Room." Pitter-patter went the hearts of thousands. He also mentioned he was in the market for a girlfriend. And, as Drake floated above, in all his beauty, you thought to yourself, "Wow, this is it. I'm gonna marry Drake. Right here in this pot-smoke-filled stadium in front of thousands of people."
If that feels a bit like a dream sequence, that's because Drake gave his fans a rather rude awakening this morning. Page Six reports the rapper may be back with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna. The two reportedly met up at The Griffin nightclub in the Meatpacking District Monday night. Witnesses say they sat at adjacent tables, but "stayed close all night." This isn't as solid a piece of relationship evidence as, say, a hand-holding scenario. But, it's enough to feel like you've swallowed a stone or something.
The lesson, here, is to never trust a man who floats on a stripper pole and tells you you're beautiful. (Page Six)
