Anthony Weiner Is Now A Restaurateur

Anthony Weiner is on the prowl — for a spot for his latest endeavor, a nonprofit restaurant in Rockaway Beach. The Rockaway Restoration Kitchen will be Weiner's first foray into the food biz.
Described as “a social entrepreneurship that operates a healthy, sustainable restaurant in a hard luck community to provide training, on-the-job apprenticeship and placement in the culinary and food service sector for unemployed New Yorkers” on Idealist.com, Rockaway Restoration Kitchen will attempt to bring new life to the seaside town, which is still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Weiner, who is no stranger to the public eye, has surprisingly not yet issued any official statements regarding his involvement with the project. The Rockaway Times, however, reports that the former NYC mayoral candidate has met with numerous officials, including Ron Moelis, the CEO of Arverne Views, a recently revamped residential and business complex in the area. Hopefully, he'll have better success with this venture than he did with politics. Who knows, maybe Weiner's finally found his true calling. (Gothamist)
