Those Angelina Jolie-Designed Louboutins Can Now Be Yours

While on the press tour for Maleficent, Angelina Jolie walked various red carpets wearing the same pair of witchy patent-leather wedges. And, we don't blame her — the custom Christian Louboutins were worth a second (and third) look. We admired the sculptural shoes from afar, appreciating the thematic tie-in of fashion and fairytale. But, as Christian Louboutin announced today, the shoe — that Angelina had a hand in designing — will finally be available for the masses come October 2014. The plot twists never end!
The heels in question perfectly captured Jolie's Maleficent. They were vampy but not over-the-top; subtle with a sinister curve at the heel. The unmistakable red sole is there, as well. But, as we know, Angelina's not your typical Hollywood megastar. And, this is not your typical celeb-designer collaboration, either. The 96 pairs of the “Malangeli” shoe (not all hybrid names are as catchy as Brangelina) will benefit SOS Children’s Village, an organization the actress/humanitarian has supported since 2003.
In case you're intrigued, dressing like Maleficent will put you back $1,495 (these are limited edition, after all). You can race to pre-order a pair in either black or red patent leather at one of five Christian Louboutin flagship stores (New York, West Hollywood, London, Hong Kong, and Paris) starting on October 20. Something wicked this way comes — and by "this way" we mean in the slideshow, take a look.
