Among the garments plucked by Carine Roitfeld for Lady Gaga's Harper’s Bazaar spread: a textured, geometric coat by Natali Germanotta, the pop star’s sis. Gaga indulged her Instagram audience with photographer Sebastian Faena’s pictures, posting, “[M]y sister Natali killing it in fashion, jacket from her Parsons thesis collection chosen by Carine Roitfeld to be featured this Icon Issue. Natali made it by hand. #germanottagirls.”
It’s a turning point for the younger Germanotta. She doesn’t dress Gaga on the regular (but, she did attend the 2011 CFDA Awards alongside the Fashion Icon recipient). Nor does she want to, according to a Teen Vogue article published a few years ago. Natali “hasn’t ruled out the possibility of working with her sister one day, though perhaps not in the capacity of stylist,” the mag reported. “She changes 50 times a day,” an "exasperated" Natali said. So, one down, 49 to go.
