This Divergent Deleted Scene Was Too Much For Theaters

I'm going to be very honest with you, my dear reader, because I love and respect you. And, because I don't want you to be sick.
Do not watch the clip I've posted below. It's a deleted scene from Divergent, and it's ultra-violent. It features a gruesome sequence in which a Dauntless initiate named Edward gets stabbed in the eye with a butter knife. That's right. In the eye. With a butter knife.
Fans of Veronica Roth's eponymous YA best-seller can attest to how violent the book is. But, Summit Entertainment had to tone down the gore to earn a PG-13 rating from the MPAA, much like Lionsgate did with The Hunger Games franchise.
The excruciating scene will likely be featured as an extra on the upcoming Divergent Blu-ray, available on August 5. But, if for some reason you have a bloodlust that needs to be satisfied right this second, click away, sicko. (Entertainment Weekly)
