This Korean Beauty Tip Involves Fire & Your Lashes

It's pretty much a no-brainer that anything having to do with fire should stay as far away from your face as possible. But, according to The Cut, there's a well-known technique in Korea that involves curling your lashes with a flame. Yep, you read that right: The secret to fluttery eyelashes apparently involves lighting a match.
Before you start listing all the ways this could go terribly wrong in your head (trust us, we've got that covered), it's important to note that the flame isn't applied directly to your lashes, à la Brazil's crazy split-end-burning technique. Instead, the fire is used to heat a small, toothpick-like stick or a metal mascara wand. Once it's been warmed, you then tap the stick/wand against your hand for 15 seconds to cool it before wiggling it up your lashes. The approach is similar to using your blowdryer to heat up your eyelash curler, but it apparently lasts a whole lot longer.
We're definitely intrigued but not sure if this is something we'll be trying out ourselves. Aside from the fact that anything having to do with flames near our eyeballs scares the crap out of us, it just seems like a ton of work for day-to-day makeup — plus, there are already self-heating lash wands on the market that we know work well. We'd be interested in seeing whether or not this works as well — or better, like The Cut claims it does. But, if you're brave with your beauty techniques, you may consider giving this a whirl.
