The boy wizard is a full-fledged man now, turning 34 today. And, what of J.K. Rowling, the woman who brought him to life? Today, the writer turns the-age-which-shall-not-be-named. Okay, okay, she's 49.
Though Potter and Rowling have shared the same birthday since Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published in 1997, Hogwarts fans are speculating that Rowling has something special planned this year. Not a-pile-of-magical-letters-and-an-oversized-gameskeeper-announcing-that-you're-a-wizard special. More like surprise-I'm-writing-an-eighth-book special. Stranger things have happened.
