We first got word of a Marge Simpson x MAC collaboration a few months back. Then, a couple of weeks ago, MAC gave us the first look at the 10-piece collection, and we started daydreaming purple-eyeshadow looks. But, today's Simpson update really takes our excitement to great heights.
This past weekend, in conjunction with Comic-Con, MAC held a one-day presale event at its Springfield San Diego location. And, while, yes, we're really bummed we missed our chance at getting our hands on the range a few weeks early, the images of the "real-life" Marge Simpsons — made up by MAC Cosmetics senior artist John Stapleton himself — roaming around the store really are a gift in itself. Come on, just take a look at that blue beehive! Can't you just hear her raspy voice muttering, "Hmmm..."?

The collection hits stores on September 4 and is available online on August 28.
Below, here are Stapleton's tips for those looking to Marge-ify themselves:
1. "Add a splash of color on the eyes. Do your normal brown or stoney tones to carve out your eyes and add definition. A pop of one of the green colors from the That Trillion Dollar Look Quad against your normal 'everyday' tones makes the use of color less shocking. Try Eye Shadow in 2 Dozen and One Greyhounds."
2. "Marge is nothing if she isn't all lashes. The simplest way to add femininity to a cartoon character is to add a pair of lashes. Pop on a pair of Marge's #7 lashes and add that little bit of allure. This has been a red carpet secret trick for years."
3. "Don't be fooled by outrageous color. The Nacho Cheese Explosion Lipglass which is a crazy yellow hue, is one of the most beautiful colors on anyone's lips. Pair it with Lip Pencil in Hover or Spice to add a peachy cast to the lips. Fill in with the lipglass. Your lips will look like they have been glazed in decadent honey."
