For a track as dance-heavy as Robyn & Röyksopp's "Do It Again," the last thing you'd expect is a dramatic music video. But, with the help of director Martin De Thurah, that's exactly what the three cooked up.
Rather than spinning lasers and twirling bodies, De Thurah (the man behind Kanye West's "Flashing Lights") took the cinematic approach to Robyn & Röyksopp's title track to their mini album. Speaking with Dazed & Confused, De Thurah explained that the insurgent-heavy black and white clip was based on the heart's desire. "I realized that no one in the world truly gets to live out their passions," he said. "We are all under some construct, whether you're an atheist living in Denmark or a gay person in Russia."
"Do It Again" is a story of rebellion told with reckless abandon. An underground party is broken up by peacekeepers, a couple rips each other's clothes off in haste, an injured girl finds escape by stealing drugs, while the artists themselves are hardly present (the boys behind Röyksopp do play insurgents, though). Don't worry, though: A rope-bound Robyn still manages to sneak in a few of those iconic flailing dance moves. (Dazed Digital)
