Lindsay Lohan Received A Comeback Award & Gave A Heartfelt Speech

These days, we don't really expect to read "Lindsay Lohan" and "received an award" in the same sentence. That's unfortunate. We won't revisit the age-old bemoaning of how much promise young Lindsay showed in The Parent Trap, or how amusing she was in Mean Girls. We'll also quit burying the lede. Lindsay Lohan did, indeed, receive an acting award.

Lindsay was honored with the Ischia Comeback Award at the annual Ischia Global Film & Music Fest in Italy. Director Paul Haggis presented Lohan with the award in recognition of her role in the West End production of Speed-the-Plow, a David Mamet play.
"Thank you, from someone so amazing as you are, and being a friend to me, and someone who I aspire to work with and that I'm lucky to have in my life," Lindsay said to Haggis when accepting the honor. She continued with a reference to the turbulence of the past few years, "Five years before this, I was in Capri...and a lot has happened since then, which I know and you know."
From there, Lohan offered a heartfelt thanks for the opportunity: "It's really lovely to be in a position like this and go through certain things in life that bring you back to a place where you can then just speed into the plows of the new depths of your life. I just wanna give my life my all, and I just wanna wish everyone the best. Thank you and God bless."
Cynicism aside, Lindsay, we welcome your comeback anytime. (E! Online)
