That doesn't mean the rest of the world can't rock a trilby like the rest of North Brooklyn, though. Thrillist put together a list of the hipstery-est neighborhoods around the globe, from Shoreditch to Södermalm to Singpore's Tiong Bahru. You know, just in case you can't bear to be anywhere outside of NYC without access to Intelligentsia coffee and an artisanal cheesemonger/barber/pencil sharpener.
A few places are noticeably absent from the list. Where is Montreal's Mile End, practically the birthplace of scruffy beards? Where's San Francisco's Mission, with its fixie'd messengers and militant vegans? And, where art thou, Portland, so god-awfully hip that you got your own TV show on IFC?
Then again, a true hipster neighborhood would never find itself on such a list. At least, not any list you've ever heard of. (Thrillist)
