The idea is pretty basic — so basic, we're boggled that someone didn't come up with it before. The Influence will round up paparazzi shots, street-style snaps, red-carpet photographs, and fashion editorials, and make them instantly shoppable. Customers will be able to purchase exactly what their favorite influencer is wearing, or more affordable alternatives. Consumers will also be able to search and shop by influencer, trend, product, or occasion.
The Influence is also launching shoppable videos — its first being the above reel of Mandy Moore and makeup artist Molly R. Stern. All of the products in the tutorial can be purchased by clicking pop-up links that appear as they are demonstrated. Talk about high-tech.
Aside from being able to buy everything used, we love this makeup tutorial. Mandy and Molly have such a great rapport, and the beauty look, in addition to looking fabulous, is a cakewalk to pull off. The three-minute video is comprised of just five steps, making it insanely easy to recreate at home. If this is what The Influence has in store, it's going to be part of our regular web rotation for sure.
