Love a good collab? Prepare to be totally infatuated: J.Crew and Bite Beauty are teaming up to bestow upon us a trio of exclusive matte lip colors this month. Cue the angels singing.
The shades, which are all new and exclusive to J.Crew, use Bite's Matte Creme Lip Crayon formula. If you're a fan of bright lipstick shades, you're going to love these: Edie is a fiery red-orange, Lola is a punched-up watermelon hue, and Sophie is a delicate, petal pink.
"J.Crew has defined itself as the trendsetter of sophisticated cool. We're thrilled to have created three electric shades that epitomize the J.Crew girl and serve as the ultimate accessory," says Susanne Langmuir, founder of Bite Beauty. "But, it is about more than that; it is about creating a statement look for lips that is truly fresh and beautiful."
Obviously, this is a match made in heaven — one that continues to define J.Crew's new focus on beauty. Bite is just the latest collaboration in a string of recent ventures for the retailer, including nail-polish brand Tenoverten and organic line RMS Beauty.
All of these products have one thing in common: Each of the companies is green-minded. But, Tom Mora, vice president of women's design for J.Crew, claims this isn't the brand's first priority. "We're always on the lookout for products that are high-quality," he says. "The fact that Bite is all-natural makes it an added bonus."
So, what made Bite such an attractive collaborator? "We love their use of color! They are the first natural brand to use high pigment, and it feels like such a natural fit for us," he explained. As far as what makes a beauty brand or product appealing to J.Crew as a partner, Mora says, "We love to have products we admire and like to use ourselves, and we always want to share our favorites with our customers." We appreciate that, Tom.
You can find these tubes in the Discovered section of J.Crew brick-and-mortar stores and online later this month. But, this is one collection you'll want to snap up quickly — it's only on shelves from July 28 to October 31.
