Noted music critic Donatella Versace lent her ear to Vogue U.K. to review Mariah Carey's latest album, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse. Mariah "is such an important part of my life," Versace writes in her intro, "it feels like I've known her forever." The two were introduced at a fashion show and shared an evening of "pure magic" at a Palazzo Versace fete a few years later. And, the designer has dressed Carey on several occasions, including the 2005 Fashion Rocks in Monte Carlo.
"Like every Mariah fan in the world, I've been desperate for the release" of Me. I Am Mariah…, she remarks, before breaking down her preferred tracks. "Supernatural," for one, makes Versace smile. "It guest stars Mariah's beautiful twins, Monroe and Morocco, also known as Roc and Roe, and they already have talent at three years old! You can already hear a steady vibrato in Monroe's voice!" Steady vibrato? Quite the descriptor. We wonder if Pitchfork's hiring. (Vogue U.K.)
