What’s your toilet-seat strategy when you’re in a public restroom — do you hover over the seat? Lay down a liner? Throw caution to the wind and just sit down? Apparently, it doesn’t matter which tactic you choose. Coming into contact with a toilet seat has long been believed to be a one-way ticket to infection. But, as The Huffington Post explains, our bare skin is already an effective barrier between us and toilet-seat bacteria. Those paper liners aren’t doing anything but making us feel better about sharing the john with strangers.
