Keira Knightley Makes Sweet Tunes With NYC In Begin Again

As cliché as it may be, there's really nothin' like a good old-fashioned coming-of-age New York City movie. And, though Keira Knightley's Gretta is past the typical "coming-of-age" phase in her life, she's learning to, as the movie title so appropriately suggests, begin again.
With a bushy-haired Mark Ruffalo as her guide and motivator, Knightley scratches her singing itch and makes a record. "Let's record an album. And, the city is our studio," Ruffalo says at one point in the trailer. It's twee, yes, but you can't deny the pull of romanticism. Maroon 5's Adam Levine stars as Knightley's rockstar ex-boyfriend. Ten bucks he gets jealous of her success and tries to win her back.

Brace yourselves for those heartwarming rom-com moments, the inevitable bout of tears when someone professes their love and someone else doesn't feel the same, and beautiful shots of New York City, yadda, yadda, yadda. And, it wouldn't be a proper New York tale if there wasn't some threat that a main character might chuck it all and leave the bright lights of the big city. But, don't worry, Manhattan, just like the nice guy, always wins in the end.
Begin Again opens in limited release on July 27.
