Joining Pharrell Williams and Mary Katrantzou — who teamed with the activewear line this year — as well as past partners like Jeremy Scott, Opening Ceremony, and longtime collaborator Stella McCartney, Rita Ora is up next to make her mark on the label this summer. WWD announced the news this morning that the British songstress will create three collections with adidas, debuting this summer and carrying on until fall '15.
Despite her lack of free time — "I don’t own a second of my life," she tells WWD — we have a hunch this project comes naturally for the artist. After all, her signature style move is to mix elegant with edgy, ladylike with streetwear. Case in point: Our first peek at Ora's designs shows what appears to be a classic adidas anorak in a deep purple shade and splashed with a rose print. We'll take that as a sign of more sturdy but soft-around-the-edges designs to come. Keep an eye out for Ora's adidas line as it drops over three launch dates this year, starting August 21. (WWD)
