To say that sparks flew when Kate Winslet met husband Ned Rocknroll would be an understatement; the house was actually on fire. The Oscar-winning actress told the whole story to Laura Brown for Harper Bazaar's June/July cover interview.

Three years ago, Winslet and Rocknroll both happened to be on Richard Branson's Necker Island (Rocknroll is Branson's nephew) when the entire house burned to the ground. Winslet saved Branson's mother, Eve: "I carried her out of the house and down some very slippery stone steps," Winslet told Brown. "Lucky she's tiny!" And, as the fates would have it, Winslet and Rocknroll fell in love, married, and together brought Bear Blaze Rocknroll into the world. "We had to get the fire thing in there somewhere," she adds.

Winslet's Harper's interview explores the two roles the actress plays on the daily: Hollywood star and mother. She discusses the not-so-glamorous side of life and how wonderful it is to be private. "Nobody knows him — it's brilliant," Winslet said of Ned. "They [the media] like to think they know him. They like to be judgmental because of his name and everything, but it's fabulous because no one knows anything about him." And, as a result, no one knows much about Kate's life outside of her career — which, by the way, she's keen to re-prioritize.

"It's time to get back," Winslet states. "Back to the 'I don't fuck around,' back to the KW basics of take some serious risks, put yourself out there. And just really push it." If she's talking about stand-out roles like Quills, Eternal Sunshine, and the cult-favorite Romance & Cigarettes, then yes, please!

The full glossy interview hits stands May 27, but eager readers can see it now over at Harper's Bazaar's digital space.
