NYC Royalty Fetes The Meatpacking District

Most New Yorkers would stand — or throw a party, or at least tip their hats — for local (and international) icons like Diane Von Furstenberg, André Balazs, and Andrew Rosen. But, last night, it was these Gotham City power players who were paying tribute to another local legend: the Meatpacking District. For the second year in a row, neighborhood boutiques and restaurants doled out sample snacks and discounted shopping to benefit the Meatpacking District Improvement Association. (Not that there's much to improve, in our opinion.)
Olivier Theyskens, Tory Burch, Mario Batali, and Marcus Wainwright all came out to show their support and mingle amongst red-ticket clothing racks from Intermix, Rag & Bone, and Vince. On the culinary front, David Neville and Mazdack Rassi scoped out bites from Bagatelle, Buddakan, The Diner, and Willow Road. And, DJs Chelsea Leyland and Elle Dee kept the whole thing feeling fun and festive. A few things are certain: First, this event better be back next year. Second, we're pretty sure our favorite cobblestoned streets ain't goin' nowhere.
