Elizabeth Olsen’s Childhood Crush Was Michelle Pfeiffer

Sure, Elizabeth Olsen has hit the indie scene hard with critically acclaimed roles in Martha Marcy May Marlene, Kill Your Darlings, and Oldboy, but this summer she'll be joining the blockbuster ranks. First up is a turn in the much-anticipated Godzilla, and she's currently filming her part as the Scarlet Witch in the next Avengers flick. Of course, working with the big studios also means doing a big-time publicity tour, and the first stop is the cover of this month's Marie Claire U.K.
The fashion mag gave Olsen fans a little sneak peek at her endearing interview, and it's clear that she's setting herself apart from her more famous sisters. While Mary-Kate and Ashley earned their fame (and millions) with feel-good home videos and self-branded products, Lizzie is after a more serious acting career. And, as she told Marie Claire, she's had her eye on Hollywood since the beginning — unlike most teenage girls who idolize boy bands or Robert Pattinson, her crush was a little different.

"I never had a heart-throb or band I loved, but I had Michelle Pfeiffer," she said. "I tried to copy what my friends would do and had magazine pictures cut out in frames. She [Pfeiffer] was the reason I wanted to be an actor."
Lizzie's certainly doing her part to carve out a stellar acting career, but it's the paparazzi and the tabloid lifestyle that she still hasn't gotten on board with. She currently enjoys relative anonymity living in New York City, and she told Marie Claire she hopes that never changes. "I'm never bothered anywhere," she said. "Occasionally someone will say, 'Have we met before? You look so familiar.'"
Olsen might not stay so under-the-radar now that she's turning to studio franchises, but it's all about the tradeoffs. Check out her full interview to find out her plan for success. (Marie Claire UK)
