Is Kanye West Working On A Spoken Word Album?

Kanye West's last album Yeezus was an exercise in minimalism. But, that may have been nothing compared to what the rapper reportedly has in store of us. According to British tabloid The Sun, an unnamed source insists that West is working on a three-hour spoken word album.
While we can't help but greet this news with a heap of skepticism, if any rapper is capable of this kind of experimentation and bravado, it's West. The rapper seems intent on reinventing himself with each passing album, and after the stripped-down industrial fuzz that colored Yeezus, maybe removing production entirely is the logical next step. It helps that West loves the sound of his own voice, too. And, if you think he can't fill three hours of dead space with his thoughts and musings, think again. "He has very strong views on everything from music and art to politics and the environment," said the source. "He's forever recording his opinions on tape."
West seems to be in a much happier place these days, with his wedding to Kim Kardashian fast approaching. We fully expect his next record to reflect the softer side of West's psyche, but if there's one thing the rapper's proven over the years, it's that he could care less about expectations. (Oh No They Didn't!)
