Selena Gomez apparently has a new Instagram philosophy: 'Tis better to give than to receive. Though the pop star has over eight million followers on the photo-sharing site, she's no longer following a single person. But, apparently there's a good reason behind the purge.
A source (yeah, one of those) reveals that Gomez is seeking to cut ties with people whom she deems negative. Soon after Coachella, the former Disney actress unfollowed celebrity pals like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner on Instagram. Since then, she's scaled back even further, reducing her following count to zero.
Gomez has cited extreme peer pressure and negative influences as the reason behind her two-week stint in rehab this January. Her Instagram drama has, of course, raised questions over whether or not Swift and co. were considered bad friends, or simply just collateral in her mass unfollowing spree. Though she's been spied socializing around town, the source says the Texas native wants to focus on her music and church for the moment.
Fair enough. If cutting off people helps Gomez heal, so be it. Judging by her recent Instagram posts, one of which features the lyrics to Mary J. Blige's "Work in Progress," the 21-year-old appears to be indulging in some reflective "me" time. Gotta respect that. (E! News)
