We do get distracted from time to time at R29 HQ, but being able to collaborate across rows does ignite plenty of story ideas (and antics). Now, French designer Benoit Challand has combined open offices with something else we love — typography.
His project "Fold Play" is a set of alphabet-shaped desks you can manipulate into many forms. It brings together quirky concept and streamlined design. Chances are people passing through a Challand-designed space would never see clever phrases spelled out, but we do admire the wordy idea. We wouldn't mind sharing an "O" setup between pals. Sitting in the underbelly of an "R" seems cool, too. One potential drawback to the calligraphic concept: If some of us didn't get letters with built-in bookshelves, there'd almost certainly be a brawl. (It's Nice That)
