Chelsea Handler And CBS Are Up To Something...

The new late-night landscape hasn't been leveled just yet. As Stephen Colbert prepares to take the reins of The Late Show from David Letterman, he might find himself competing with another newbie on the network: Chelsea Handler.

The host of Chelsea Lately posted a picture of herself (and her dog, Chunk) to her Instagram account yesterday, holding what appears to be internal documents from CBS. She captioned it with the words "business meeting." TMZ suggests that she could be next in line for a CBS program, possibly replacing The Late Late Show's Craig Ferguson.

That wouldn't come as much of a surprise. Handler's manager, Irving Azoff, told the Hollywood Reporter last month that the host plans to leave the E! network when her contract expires at the end of the year. "We have at least seven suitors," Azoff said at the time, "and many ideas." And, in a recent interview with Paper, Handler also suggested that she's working on a show for Netflix.

While her viewership has dipped over the past couple of years, Handler's show has still maintained a devoted following. We feel bad for those poor E! execs — without Chelsea Lately, they'll be left with the Kardashians, Total Divas, and a reality show about E! News co-host Giuliana Rancic. God help 'em. (TMZ)
