Tavi Gevinson Will Kiss A Girl On Next Week’s Parenthood Finale

When Tavi Gevinson does something, she goes all in. Earlier this week, we reported that the 17-year-old wunderkind would star in the Broadway revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s 1996 play, “This Is Our Youth," which we thought was the official follow up to her acting debut in last year's charmer Enough Said. It turns out, we were wrong.
The fledgling actress will make a very major cameo in next week's season finale of Parenthood. We're not sure how NBC managed to keep her guest appearance under wraps, especially considering the salacious nature of her role. Gevinson will play Haddie's surprise girlfriend, and according to the just-released promo, some major lip-locking ensues. For those of you that don't watch Parenthood because you refuse to accept Lauren Graham in anything that isn't Gilmore Girls, let us bring you up to speed. Haddie is a teenager that went away to college and hasn't been heard from in a while. Now, she's back, and she has a lover. That's about all we can tell you because we, too, are Team Lorelai.
But, you can bet we'll be tuning in next Thursday to watch Gevinson hone her newest craft by exploring teen lesbianism in a much more visceral way than she has in her magazine, Rookie. Congrats, NBC — you just got your must-see TV back.
