15 Fixes For Beauty Emergencies

Whether you're a beauty junkie or a total natural girl, chances are that you've found yourself with a super-annoying beauty emergency and cursed yourself for being too ill-equipped to deal. Whether it's a cracked, rough nail (which will inevitably snag your tights, causing a double emergency) or a zit that springs up right before a big meeting, it's inevitable that something is bound to throw off your looks game eventually. But, according to a story over at Byrdie, if you're prepped with the right tips and arsenal, small snafus don't have to ruin your day.

The key to making like a Girl Scout and always being prepared? Having the right products on hand to fix last-minute blunders — and also working ahead to prevent disasters from happening in the first place. For instance, if you get a bad crack in your nail in the middle of the day and can't drop everything to get to the salon (life is #sorude), there's a solution. Manicurist Kait Mosh advises cutting a tea bag or coffee filter to fit the exact shape of your nail. Then, simply apply a base coat, stick your DIY "nail wrap" to the still-wet polish, and follow with two coats of regular nail polish.
While quick fixes for zits are always possible (the right drying lotion can work wonders overnight) skin guru Ling Chan stresses that having consistently good skin is all about prevention — moisturize religiously, and your skin will produce less breakout-causing oil (true story).
Head over to Byrdie to check out all of the short- and long-term beauty fixes. (Byrdie)
