The Little Mermaid Remake: Our Votes For The Newest Ariel

It would be an understatement to say that we were a little excited when we heard that Sofia Coppola would be directing the live-action version of The Little Mermaid. Who better to tell the story of a young mermaid yearning to walk on the beach? We can already see the beautiful washed-out underwater shots.

And, now that the long-awaited screen adaptation is finally on its way, we can’t help but speculate as to who will play Ariel, the fiery-haired sea goddess. Our list of talented actresses includes a few of the usual suspects, breakout young starlets, and a wild card or two. So, until Disney’s underwater princess is confirmed, we’ll just spend our days casting and recasting the flick over and over again in our heads.
