Fancy a little lager with your latte? Thirsty for a venti-sized vino? Looking to chase your Oprah Winfrey-branded chai tea with a bit of chardonnay? If you'd like to add a buzz to your coffee jitters, Starbucks hears you.
After road testing alcohol sales in cities like Seattle and Chicago, the coffee giant is planning to roll out more alcohol options in thousands of its urban-area stores. Boozy offerings, like beer and wine, will be available after 4 p.m. as part of the "Starbucks Evenings" menu, as will fancy dishes, like bacon-wrapped dates and truffle mac 'n' cheese. We've come a long way from Frappuccinos, guys.
This new menu could really change the game when it comes to coffee-shop first dates. (Bloomberg)
