Bite Dissects A Rose, Turns All The Colors Into Lip Gloss

It's official: Roses are the mascot of spring 2014 — in the beauty world, that is. Nary a day goes by without a rose-infused something-or-other landing on our desks, and we're not complaining. Between Aerin's Rose Balm, Roses de Chloé, and Balenciaga's Rosabatanica, it pretty much feels like we're living in a permanent rose garden.
So, when we heard about Bite Beauty's limited-edition, rose-based lip gloss line, we weren't exactly surprised. We were, however, really, really excited. The collection, Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library, is the kind of thing so pretty, we'd rather hoard it than use it. But, given how amazing the lip glosses are, not using every single one of them would be a crime.

The curation of colors is truly a work of art: Each shade represents a different hue you'd find in a bouquet of red and pink roses. From the deepest red-mauve to the palest pink, and every earthy, tawny peach in between, this basically satisfies all of our spring-color cravings.
As for the lip glosses themselves? They're not just rose-scented. They're infused with Rose Otto, a distilled rose oil that's packed with super-hydrating vitamins and antioxidants. Don't you love when pretty makeup also has long-term prettifying properties? Yeah, us too.
The collection launches on April 1, and we have a feeling it won't last on shelves for very long. So, basically, we won't judge anyone for buying more than one — there's nothing wrong with stocking up on something wonderful.
Bite Beauty Deconstructed Rose Lip Gloss Library, $49, available April 1 at Sephora.
