It was only a matter of time before Charlie Brown and friends got the CGI treatment. For the last decade, studios have been practically printing money thanks to computer animated films, so it's only logical that Peanuts, the most popular comic strip of all time, would get some big screen love, too.
Fox is the lucky studio behind the 2015 release of Peanuts Movie and it's counting on the 355 million people worldwide that used to read Charles Schulz's madcap tales to come fill seats. The studio is also banking on a whole new generation of viewers to fall in love with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Woodstock, and the rest of the gang. That they're getting 3D-ified certainly won't hurt, although it might rub Peanuts purists the wrong way.
In the film's first teaser, we don't get much in terms of plot, but we do finally get to see Charlie Brown and Snoopy in action. It may take some getting used to, but any excuse to revisit Schulz's iconic world is good enough for us. We say bring it on. Peanuts Movie hits theaters in the fall of 2015. (Coming Soon)
