BB Cream Testing: A How-To Video For Darker Skin Tones

We recently wrote about how trying to find the right BB cream for women of color is basically a wild goose chase. We'd like to revisit that topic with a product that delivers the goods, as well as show you a video that illustrates how to apply it. Check it out above.

This is a great tutorial for two reasons. First, the vlogger/artist, Ashleigh of Beauteous Max, goes into the science behind why mass brands haven't caught up with department and prestige brands when it comes to offering a wider amount of hues with the right amount of coverage. Second, you get to observe her apply the product with ninja-like skill.
Watch as Ashleigh goes all glam and flawless in mere seconds, then head to Sephora and get the BB cream and a good foundation brush. Copy these skills in the comfort of your own bathroom, then emerge satisfied. Better yet, try the technique with a good foundation.
Here's hoping that mass brands get in the game with a wider range of BB creams. Until then, the video has a point, which is that you may have to spend a little more $$ for the product. But, after seeing results like these, it's totally worth it. You only have one face, so treat it to the best you can afford.
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35, $39, available at Sephora
