We've always had the feeling that backstage at Saturday Night Live would be the most fun place hang out ever. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler probably drop by all the time to say hello to their old pals. Next-door neighbor Jimmy Fallon can be overheard in his studio getting really excited about things. The craft services table is probably legendary. And, based on this hilarious video that just hit the web, there's a lot of spontaneous dancing to Beyoncé songs happening over at Studio 8H.
In this outtake from last week's episode, host Lena Dunham can be seen gossiping backstage with cast members Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant, when an eager Vanessa Bayer storms into the room to show the girls the new Beyoncé dance she just learned. Though they're reluctant at first, they eventually comply, because backstage at SNL is a magical place where creativity is celebrated, friendship is important, and hip-hop dancing reigns supreme. Now, if only we knew why this hilarious short was left on the cutting-room floor? It would have by far been our favorite sketch of the week. Check it out below.
