Photo: Charley Gallay/Getty Images. Lauren Conrad is synonymous with all things California beach, including her signature hairstyle of long, loose waves. Well, it looks like she decided to kick up her Cali girl look: LC's sporting a shorter, edgier style, and it's a pretty sweet cut.
Conrad debuted her new 'do this weekend while out and about with friends at a Malibu Island Spiced Rum Event and posted a shot on Instagram. It looks like she's said goodbye to at least three to four inches of platinum ends and added some deeper honey blonde to the mid-lengths. Longtime hairstylist Kristin Ess (presumably the one who did the chopping) has also done some masterful scissor work. Those gradual layers in the front are a thing of beauty.

Judging from her Instagram feed, it looks like Conrad took some time to get used to her new choppy style. She posted the close-up (below) of what looks to be a bedhead version of the cut about two weeks ago. We love them both: It's a good look for her, and it's got plenty of versatility for a bride-to-be who needs to play with veils and whatnot.
