The Dalai Lama Supports Gay Marriage, Says It’s An “Individual Choice”

The Dalai Lama has spoken, and gay marriage is a-okay in His Holiness' book. During an interview with Larry King, the exiled spiritual leader said: [sic] "If two people — a couple — really feel that way is more practical, more sort of satisfaction, both sides fully agree, then okay."
Though he stressed the importance of following whatever your respective faith says about sexuality, he was quick to note marriage and whom someone loves is ultimately up to the individual. "There are different forms of sex — so long as it is safe, and if both people fully agree." Whomever it is you're falling for, keep it consensual and protect yourself — it's that simple.
What the Dalai Lama does not support is bullying. He sees it as a violation of human rights. It might not be the most profound of statements, but it's enough to keep the conversation of equal rights in motion. Plus, having an ally like the Dalai Lama really speaks to the importance and necessity of acceptance. (Yahoo!)
