It's been a few weeks since Philip Seymour Hoffman's untimely passing, but the wounds are still fresh for everybody — especially for his friends and colleagues. Amy Adams taped a heart-wrenching interview for Inside the Actors Studio mere days after Hoffman's death, and the full episode aired last night. It was, well, difficult to watch.
Both host James Lipton and Adams got choked up at the mention of the actress' Doubt costar, and the tears were flowing. Lipton mentioned that he first met Hoffman fourteen years ago, when he predicted that he would become the greatest actor of his generation. Adams continued the sentiment, telling the audience that she wished they had gotten a chance to work with him. "He's a beautiful spirit," she said. "He had this unique ability to see people, to really see them — not look through them — he just really saw people. And, he will be missed."
Watch the video below, but prepare for the tears to flow.
