Valentine’s Day With A VS Angel Is Way More Casual Than You’d Think

So, it's (almost) Valentine's Day. And, when we think about what we'd want to look like on February 14, we'll admit that we wouldn't hate looking like a Victoria's Secret model: tousled hair, sultry makeup, and blow-'em-out-of-the-water lingerie. But, ever wonder what the Angels themselves wear for the most romantic day of the year? Turns out our friends Candice Swanepoel and Karlie Kloss have a much simpler approach than you'd think.
After all of that prancing around in thigh-highs (complete with life-sized wings, natch), come V-Day, models Candice and Karlie are ready for a break from all of those bells and whistles. While both girls admit that they love Valentine's Day as an excuse to "celebrate love," the ladies aren't looking for elaborate dates or complicated expressions of affection. Says Candice, "I've been with my boyfriend since I was 17, so we usually make Valentine's Day more of a relaxed thing, with a good meal, a bottle of red wine, and some hibernation!" When it comes to date-night hair and makeup, Swanepoel keeps it as simple as possible. "My boyfriend sees me done up all of the time, so he actually prefers me with really natural, with no makeup," she says. Similarly, Kloss likes to be straightforward with her getup. "Stick with something simple and classic, like a Cushnie Et Ochs dress — maybe paired with a smoky eye or a red lip," she says. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
Speaking of cat-eyes, when Candice does put on the glam, she has the secret for the perfect cat-eye: Lightly pull the corner of your eye up and out, and draw from the outside in, along your upper lashline.
