Since fall, Marc Jacobs' workload has officially taken quite the dip now that he's no longer creative director for Louis Vuitton. But, in an interview with W magazine, Jacobs reveals that concentrating on his namesake line means there are changes ahead. Huge ones, in fact. Specifically, the brand's name.
According to Jacobs, he "always hated" the Marc by Marc title for his diffusion line. But, the steps he plans to take for his collections' new identities do not stop there. Shoes and handbag designs will be getting a revamp at the hands of Jacobs, who claims they "got very polluted and diluted" over the years. All of the branding will also receive a makeover. And, the New York designer may even be considering a move to Paris Fashion Week.
It may take quite some time before we see all of these transformations occur at Marc Jacobs. But, with the designer showing his new collections next Tuesday and Thursday for Marc by Marc and Marc Jacobs, respectively, the future of this American fashion line may become evident sooner than you'd think.
