Junior Prom’s New Music Video Is One Heck Of A Sweaty Dance Party

"Guys in their early twenties are f*cking insane. Guys in their mid-twenties are f*cking insane, and guys in their thirties are f*cking insane. Guys in their forties are insane." That, right there, is the basic gist of Junior Prom's music video for "Sheila Put The Knife Down," the lead single off its self-titled debut EP.
"We shot this video in L.A. and had a blast — the space was like a sauna and everyone was drenched in sweat," Junior Prom's Erik Ratensperger told Refinery29. "It was amazing to have all these extras dancing for ten hours straight without complaining once. The free beer probably helped with that." Indeed, sweat and dancing abound in the gritty, disposable camera-hued video. Mini-interviews with gals on the set paint an eclectic portrait of dating in your twenties. Some men want sex, some want to cuddle, Russians apparently want relationships, and some, as mentioned before, are just "insane."
The song itself is pretty freakin' rad. Junior Prom hails from Brooklyn and know a thing-or-two about making a solid pop-rock tune. "Sheila Put The Knife Down" reads like an artist statement for the band: It's an upbeat dance tune that dirties up the glittery surface of pop. Enjoy.
