New Facebook App Might Just Let Users Go Anonymous

Meta question of the day: What if Facebook had no face?
Founder Mark Zuckerberg's next move may be to develop an app that lets users log in anonymously. On a site rooted in the creation and sharing of personal information, this new development would allow users to roam freely through the social network without any set identity.

For a company whose chief values are visibility and exposure, this app offers a dramatic new take on social media. Snapchat already lets users share and send without leaving a footprint, more or less, and apps like Whisper and Rumr are designed to communicate anonymously. But, the Facebook landscape is vast and expansive, and weaving its webs incognito could be dangerous and problematic.
The social media empire has undergone some nips and tucks in its 10-year tenure, but this app would be a serious facelift.

No set plans have been shared or formally announced by Facebook. We'll be sure to Like the status update when they are. (Slate)
