Amy Poehler Returns To SNL For Seth Meyers' Last "Weekend Update"

You didn't think Saturday Night Live star Seth Meyers was going to have his last-ever "Weekend Update" without a few special surprises, did you? To usher in his leap to late-night talk-show host, former coanchor Amy Poehler joined the sorely missed Stefon (Bill Hader), Andy Samberg, and Fred Armisen for a totally nostalgic farewell cameo. Sure, we're pumped for Meyers to take over Jimmy Fallon's slot, but we'd be lying if we said we didn't get a little choked up. Stay, Seth, stay!

As current coanchor Cecily Strong said her goodbyes, Poehler and Hader joined the set to "take [Meyers] to the other side" and extol the virtues of human DVRs (don't ask). Stefon also saw fit to smack-talk newcomer Strong, telling her to "keep my man's name out ya mouth." Preach!

Next, Andy Samberg emerged to deliver his rendition of Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday." And, look! Just as the camera panned out to end the sketch, Fred Armisen entered the frame, wandering around the set in an impersonation of former New York Governor David Paterson. No offense, Fred, but that bit is the only SNL relic we weren't excited to see.

Let us offer our own fond farewell to Meyers. Thanks for the funny faux news, and be sure to book all these guys as guests on Late Night. Our human DVR is standing by... (Buzzfeed)
