The cowboy hats were on. The tongues were out. The AutoTune was off. What else would you expect from a duet between Miley Cyrus and Madonna on MTV Unplugged?
Clad in 10-gallon hats and Western wear — Cyrus' getup involved a string-bikini top, ripped denim, and lots of glitter — the blonde pop stars teamed up for a mashup of their respective hits, "Don't Tell Me" and "We Can't Stop," during last night's broadcast. The lyrics flowed nicely, the vocals held up, and the dance moves were, well, a bit squirmy. We dug the synchronized line dancing, but do we really need to see Cyrus grinding up against a woman her mother's age (or anyone, for that matter)?
"That was pretty f---ing cool, you guys," Cyrus told the audience afterward. "It was one of those days that was pretty easy to get out of bed. I get to perform with Madonna in bedazzled cowboy boots. I can't really complain about anything. Well, I can't perform when I'm stoned. That's one thing to complain I guess." First-world problems aside, we found the performance pretty entertaining.
