Katy Perry Borrowed Lizzy Caplan's Bangs

If you thought Katy Perry's mega-bun was going to be the star's big hair moment this week, boy were you way off. Perry decided to go all quick-change on us the night after the Grammys broadcast with the debut of cute new choppy bangs. The star, who performed at a Beatles tribute event on Monday, stepped onto the red carpet sporting an updated version of her heavy pin-up fringe with choppier, shorter wisps in their place.

A few things to note here. First, this isn't Katy's first trip to the Bang Buffet, so it's to her credit that she went for an updated look rather than picking the same old style. (Never look back, girl.)

Next, let's discuss the timing of said bang addition. Perry was wearing a whole lot of dress at this tribute (see: cape attachment), so we wonder if the fringe is merely a clip-in version to balance the look. Time (and more red-carpet pics) will tell. Finally, is it just us or does she look a lot like actress Lizzy Caplan in that photo? Like, a lot. Ultimately, the cut looks really good on her, which is why we're crossing our fingers that this is not just a temporary affair.
