It was only a few years ago that Nelly best articulated our love for one of Nike's most classic styles. "Give me two pairs; (cause) I need two pairs," he said, referring, of course, to Nike's Air Force Ones. And, with the reveal of the Riccardo Tisci designs for the athletic line, the old, faithful style has gotten quite the makeover. As Fashion Telegraph revealed today, the low- and high-tops have been decked out in bright piping, colorblocked accents, and the brand's signature check in orange-trimmed, brown leather. And, because a high-fashion street-wear collection wouldn't be complete without a curveball, he's also created a knee-high sneaker. However, it's probably better suited for professional street-style subjects rather than professional athletes.
Similar to how so many of Nike's styles appeal to men and women alike, the Givenchy designer claims his new creations aren't meant for just one kind of person, let alone one sense of taste. "The shoe is universal yet somehow very personal," he explains, having also previewed his new kicks via Instagram just a couple of days ago. The Nike collection will be available in white at the beginning of March, while the black styles are set to arrive in April.
